Description:

The Working Superintendent is primarily responsible for supporting and ensuring efficient and productive day-to-day field operations. The Working Superintendent strives to maintain the progress, mutual interaction and tasks of various parties in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, minimizes costs, and builds an effective field crew.

Responsible for managing field resources and related materials consistent with pre-stated project goals on assigned projects.

-Emphasize control of labor, material, tools and other related costs.

- Innovative in the use of material, manpower and methods to improve project results.

- Displays positive attitude toward care, custody and control of vehicles, equipment and materials.

- Develops a positive attitude in co-workers towards care, custody and control of vehicles, equipment and materials.

- Trains new workers in productive quality work procedures.

Responsible for working in conjunction with the division team to assist field operations through total performance of the work consistent with pre-stated goals.

- Cooperates fully with Division Manager, Project Manager, Business Development Manager and field crews to assist in performance of assigned projects.

- Effectively perform projects to ensure that client expectations and Vector goals are met.

- Manages reporting and documentation of assigned projects as required

Assists the Safety Specialist in managing the effective application of the company's Health and Safety program for the on-site field crews.

- Cooperates with others to maintain a safety-first culture at all times.

- Monitors all safety orientation for new staff, ensures completion of pre-job hazard assessments, job site inspections, and tool box meetings.

- Assist in ensuring that the division is in compliance with required due diligence and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education

- High School Diploma

- Professional designations are not required however, see below:

- Post-Secondary education in construction management, university engineering degree or college diploma in engineering, an asset

- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

- Minimum 7-10 years construction experience in a leadership role required, concrete experience an asset.
