Welder Position:

A welder is responsible for assembling the parts for each job efficiently and correctly with minimal errors.

Welder Duties and Responsibilities

• Be able to flux core weld different types of joints and connections
• Clean all welds - remove all slag and splatter by chipping and brushing
• Ensure the weld is ready for visual or special inspections
• Correct any distortion caused by the welding process
• Be able (or willing to learn) to understand commonly used weld symbols
• Assist fitters when necessary
• Stencil each piece welded with pre-assigned identification number
• Repair any work found to be unsatisfactory by company policy
• Learn SteelWorks values and ethics - SWOC. And practice them on a daily basis.
• Assist direct Supervisor when necessary.
• And other duties as assigned

Welder Requirements

• Welding experience
• High school diploma.
• Be able (or willing to learn) to use tools common at Steelworks (tape measure, oxy-fuel torch, carbon arc gouger, stud welding machine, overhead crane, grinder, minor weld inspection tools, etc)
• Team player
  

Welder Pay:

$18/hour and up, depending on experience
