Essential Functions:

• Safely and efficiently use tools such as measuring tape, grinders, drill press, band saws, and other equipment in support of day-to-day welding and metal fabrication operations.
• Embrace 5S practices by conducting daily workplace examinations, maintaining a clean and organized workplace.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by company policy.
• Follow directions from Welding Supervisor for daily tasks and expectations.
• Operate and drive forklift as requested.

Competencies:

• General knowledge of welding shop operations.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in using tools such as a grinder and pneumatic tools to grind and clean metal parts.
• Ability to use or learn to use a plasma cutter, drill press and band saw.
• Assist welders and fabricators as required.
• Ability to clean, maintain and fix equipment.
• Ability to perform simple layout and measurements using a tape measure.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Must be a self-starter that works well in a team environment.
• Always display a professional and courteous attitude.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

Preferred: Associates Degree in Welding or Machining

Preferred: 1 year of weld help experience
