Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate must be experienced in water/wastewater systems, with emphasis on water and/or wastewater treatment systems, process/treatment design, pumping systems, water reuse, water supply and storage systems.
- Candidate must be experienced in the preparation of construction documents, including specification writing and preparation of construction drawings, along with associated cost estimates.
- Candidate must be familiar with federal, state, and local regulations regarding water and wastewater systems.
- Candidate will perform engineering design, coordination with design staff with plan production, and construction administration on projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact. Experience making formal presentations to organizations, private industry, and governmental agencies.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Ability to prepare man-hour estimates and schedule routine projects.
- Capable of providing clear and concise correspondence.
- Active in professional organizations.
- Assist less experienced engineers with design and construction administration.
- Coordination with and supervision of CAD drafting staff.
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college.
- Minimum of five years experience in water/wastewater treatment design.
- Professional Engineering License in the State of Kansas required or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
