Job Overview
Read and record meter data on assigned meter reading routes.
Assist in the installation, repair, or exchange of meters.
Process non-payment turn-offs and lockdowns.
Assist with closed account disconnections and new service turn-ons.
Complete meter re-reads.
Complete and closes service orders.
Repair and replace meter boxes; locate and repair leaks.
Provide support, backup assistance, on-call coverage and support to other City departments as assigned.
Maintain assigned tools and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year of experience in water utility services, maintenance and repair of plumbing, meter reading equipment, or other related equipment.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class C Driver's License issued by the State of Texas.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain Class "D" Water License within one (1) year of hire.
A combination of education, training, and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
