$17.00 - $20.00/hour starting wage (based on experience. This is a full time position with 1st shift hours including weekends. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a wallpaper hanger, this artisan covers walls, ceilings and various surfaces of rooms with decorative fabrics. Fabrics can range from extremely pliable, delicate pieces of hand painted silks all the way to rigid pieces of plastic or wood. This is extremely detailed work as it not only involves removing wallpaper, but also removing wrinkles, bubbles and smoothing the surface. The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with their hands, handling various materials and fabrics, and is extremely detail oriented.
REQUIREMENTS
• Smooth strips or sections of paper with brushes or rollers to remove wrinkles and bubbles
• Trim excess material from installations
• Inspect completed work for proper alignment, pattern matching, and neatness
• Apply adhesives to backs of strips, or directly to the substrate as required
• Clean areas at the end of every work day, removing debris and excess drippings
• Remove old wallpaper using water, steam machines, or solvents and scrapers
