We have an immediate need for a Vice President of Business Development . The individual will be responsible to lead Business Development and Marketing efforts across our geographic markets. This position could be located in our Fishers, IN or Fort Wayne, IN office. Relocation Assistance available.

SUMMARY

This position is ultimately accountable for securing new business opportunities and facilitating all marketing functions for The Hagerman Group. Reporting to this person are Director of Business and Government Affairs, Directors of Business Development, Chief Marketing Officer, and Marketing Coordinators. Internally, the incumbent interacts with the leadership, management, and operations groups of each corporate subsidiary. Externally, the incumbent interacts with clients, potential clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, community leaders, media representatives, competitors, politicians, and others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication (both written and verbal) and people skills
  • Develop and implement an annual Business Development and Marketing Plan for The Hagerman Group
    • Position Hagerman as the Construction Solutions Provider in our geographic locations
    • Assess current marketing strategies and implement strategy changes as necessary
    • Track vertical market success across divisions and adjust as necessary to maximize gross profit
  • Oversee the Business Development and Marketing Department's performance to ensure corporate objectives are realized within established timelines and quality standards
    • Act on opportunities, pursue goals beyond what is required or expected, and take bold steps to exceed expectations
  • Motivate and energize people to live our Core Values and support the Brand, Vision, Mission, and Strategies of The Hagerman Group
  • Lead applicable portions of Leadership, Management, Departmental, and All Hands Meetings
Management
  • Monitor, drive, and achieve revenue and gross profit goals of The Hagerman Group
  • Monitor and continue to improve proposal-to-win ratios and pursuit costs
  • Develop annual G&A budget for the Business Development and Marketing Department
    • Monitor G&A costs for assigned budget categories
  • Cultivate relationships with architectural firms, engineering firms, developers, real estate brokers, economic developers, community leaders, and other public and private entities to generate leads
  • Oversee strategizing, preparing, and reviewing proposals and presentations, including:
    • Assist with business development intelligence gathering
    • Work with proposal managers and project executives to develop:
      • strategies/themes
      • various written pieces
      • site visits and project walk-throughs
      • approaches to interviews
    • Perform proposal/presentation debriefings (or delegate same) and utilize takeaways in future efforts
    • Represent The Hagerman Group in business-related functions and settings
    • Help set agendas and lead recurring business development and marketing meetings
    • Oversee company use of CRM tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ten+ years of experience in a similar role
  • College degree in public administration, business administration, marketing, or relevant field
  • Experience leading marketing and business development efforts for a high-growth A/E/C firm
