We are developing an innovative product for our industry packed with new technology that involves robots, precise x-y-z motions, vision, complex algorithms, and HMI/GUI interfaces. We are looking for a bright, and talented VP of Engineering to join our team.

Reporting to the Co-CEO's of the Company, this position will lead the Company's engineering department, including design engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, and sustaining engineering. This position will own and execute the product development and market release processes, managing a team of approximately 25 to 30 engineers. As department head, this position will create and maintain engineering operating budgets, prepare engineering guidelines and processes, and oversee the introduction of new products to market with solid ROI planning.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and supervise strategies, policies and operating plans of Engineering organization.
  • Assess operating results and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Execute engineering projects and processes.
  • Drive product development programs to successful completion.
  • Prepare engineering guidelines and process.
  • Develop product requirements and specifications.
  • Assist in business development, customer meetings and proposal generation.
  • Set up technology and product roadmaps for the company.
  • Set up partnerships with technology companies and integrate new technologies.
  • Plan and develop the department's operating and capital budgets and manage expenses to conform with budget.
  • Implement required compliance with best of breed engineering practices and methods as approved.
  • Estimate design schedules and project labor and material costs.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and work direction for others where appropriate.
  • Support teammates in diverse disciplines such as software engineering, mechanical engineering, assembly and manufacturing, calibration, final test, service, applications engineering, and sales.
  • Provide customer support worldwide - 10-15% Travel as required.
  • Rigorous attention to detail, practical big-picture view of design tradeoffs, and adherence to solid design methods, principles, and processes.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Engineering or Science, PhD in Engineering or Science strongly preferred.

12-15+ years leading Product Development teams

5+ years' experience operating at the Director level or above

Experience leading teams of 30+ individuals comprised of systems-based engineering functions (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Polymer, etc.) across all levels (i.e., entry-level to Principal / Director)

Financial ownership of Product Development portfolio, including budget experience

Design for Manufacturing expertise

Executive presence

Strategic minded, execution driven

Able to lead and manage in a rapid pace, complex environment with multiple project teams

Customer-centric design, development and engagement approach

Demonstrated success working collaboratively with cross-functional teams


Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $116,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
