Job Summary:
The Veterans Transition & Development Program (VTDP) is a highly selective program within Raytheon Missiles & Defense that seeks to identify top veteran talent including high performing junior enlisted, non-commissioned, and commissioned officers. This program provides candidates the training, mentorship, and the exposure they need to grow into future leaders across our most demanding businesses. US military veterans have a unique set of experiences and leadership abilities that are greatly valued in our organization.
VTDP is a one-year program designed to support your transition to and development in your function or mission area role. Members of the VTDP gain exposure to world-class products, advanced technologies and a wide range of learning & development experiences including mentoring, career planning, live and/or self-paced learning, networking through the Veterans employee resource group and exposure to RMD programs and practices.
The Low Voltage Power Products (LVPP) Department supports key Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) products, by providing mission-critical designs relating to power conversion, motor controls, flight termination systems, telemetry, and other analog domains.
We are looking for junior to mid-level engineers who have power electronics knowledge to help design robust power systems for important national defense products.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Work closely with a team of engineers to d evelop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, RTX guidelines
Employ peer review processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Execute to program schedules on time and budget
Demonstrate self-motivation
Qualifications You Must Have:
US Military service and Honorable discharge upon separation from service
0-5 years of separation for US military service
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
2+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control system
Design, analysis, test, and simulation experience with one or more of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
Experience with analog electronics design, including at least two of the following: FET/BJT logic level, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
A self-starter, a quick learner, be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills. Should have an appreciation for how successful teams are structured.
Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
Hardware development experience in a DoD environment
Experience generating technical documentation and reports
Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components
Experience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designs
Existing US DOD security clearance
