Underground Foreman

The Underground Foreman is responsible for both supervisory tasks as well as the physical construction/upgrade of Telecommunications/Cable systems in an outside plant environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide on the job training for direct employees

Ensure project requirements are met before starting the job

Operate underground cable plows, mini excavator and pneumatic air tools (underground missiles)

Ensure site is set up correctly and in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines

Dig holes/trenches

Spot digging existing utilities

Feed cable off large reels

Rodding existing underground conduits

Ensure the workspace is clear of debris

Flagging traffic as needed

Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience in outside plant telecommunications required

Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely

Strong knowledge of CATV building practices required

Strong knowledge of CTV field equipment

OSHA 10 training required

Flagging certification required

Valid CPR certification required

Ability to read and understand CTV cable prints

Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Demonstrated leadership skills

Valid driver's license required

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
