Lead Crews on Construction projects, and maintain a good working relationship with contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain correct employee records (time tickets, training, CDL, etc.)
Ensure all employees have updated DOT physical
Obtain locates for upcoming projects
Make sure all other utilities have been pot holed before excavation
Make sure all trenches are closed by EOD
Make red line changes to prints
Make sure all structures, conduit are being installed per Allo standards
Oversee restoration to excavation area
Work with Field Engineer and City Inspector so that all standards are followed, work to maintain a safe work location
Keep equipment in safe and proper working order
Make sure all employees have proper equipment to do job safely
Make sure all equipment is being transported in a safe manner
Ensure trailers are in proper working order and can pass DOT inspection
Keep all DOT inspection on vehicles and trailers up to date
Work with LES, GE, and other contractors to make sure that Allo has conduit, structures, and people on site when work is to begin
Work with other Forman to balance work load.
Other duties as assigned
Up to 50% travel associated with this position.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience in a related field
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Good understanding of to operate and maintain equipment. Knowledge of easements, ROW, in how that relates to the placement of Allo's plant.
Have good understanding and ability to read Allo plan sets.
A good understanding of how the Joint Trench process works.
A good understanding of laying out a project (getting locates, marking excavation & Trench running line,etc).
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to operate company vehicles and maintain a driver's license, and commercial license if applicable, in good standing.
Ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
Knowledge of underground utility construction and your assigned geographic region.
Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day in all weather conditions.
Flexibility and temperament to adapt to sudden challenges and changing work condition.
Willingness to change the schedule at short notice to respond to emergency calls.
Availability for weekend on-call duty, as required.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
