Turnaround Manager

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Turnaround Manager Luling , are to:

Key Tasks:

  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering/Projects departments to determine scope and duration of shutdowns;
  • Lead the Turnaround Scheduler in the utilization of Critical Path Management (CPM) techniques and associated software tools to plan, schedule, coordinate and manage shutdown activities;
  • Utilize CPM planning to determine resource requirements for work execution during the turnaround and communicate the resource needs to Production and Maintenance Management;
  • Create and implement communication plans to ensure accurate schedule and logic network updates before and during turnaround periods;
  • Create daily work schedules for all execution groups including Maintenance & Projects activities for the duration of the turnaround period;
  • Communicate expected milestones for each shift/day/week to maintenance execution groups and project managers of Engineering projects;
  • Coordinate and/or conduct detailed planning of turnaround activities including resource estimates and procuring of long lead/specialty materials and services;
  • Own and manage the maintenance backlog of turnaround work which includes identifying all pre-turnaround and post- turnaround activities and coordinating with appropriate resources to ensure on time completion;
  • Conduct post-turnaround critiques with key stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in the planning and execution of future turnarounds;
  • Manage approximately $10 million of Turnaround maintenance activities annually in addition to an estimated $15 million of Project Turnaround activities;
  • Interact with the Plant Managers, Head of Maintenance Manager, the three Maintenance Managers, the Engineering & Construction Manager, the direct reports of these managers, and the Turnaround Scheduler.

Qualification & Competencies:

  • BS in Engineering or related discipline;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance, Operations, or Projects/Engineering activities;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of shutdown/turnaround workflow;
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal competencies including coaching, development, people management, influencing, facilitation, project management;
  • Ability to interact and work with all levels of the team and senior management to meet business deliverables;
  • Self-motivated to identify and promote new ideas to improve team and plant performance and meet business objectives.


Preferred:

  • Provide comprehensive technical understanding of maintenance fundamentals, processes, system requirements, and best practices;
  • Demonstrate prior People Leader experience.
