Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as an Tool Gauge Inspector 4 based out of Clearfield, UT.

Northrop Grumman is hiring Tooling Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in rural Iuka, MS. The assignment may include one or more projects including hand layup, fiber placement, assembly, machining, painting, and structural testing of composite parts. Iuka currently produces structures for Atlas and Antares rockets, F-35 fighter jets, and other high end related parts. Some of our work requires Secret Clearance. Our Iuka facility employs about 200 people across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Support Services. The work we do impacts our national security and supports human space exploration. Responsibilities include the following:

Manage projects and coordinate all procurement and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements. Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design.
Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved. Develop/create/review tooling concepts to improve manufacturing processes. Develop 3D tooling designs and drawings for production of composite/aerospace structures. Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and function. Evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include. production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.

Our teams are broken out by program and product families. You will be working within your team to meet our customer needs and deliver quality products in a timely manner. This position is for a day shift (Monday to Friday), and may require off hour support. Travel is estimated to be less than 10% and within the US, typically to support our customers. Basic Qualifications:

Principal Tool Gauge Inspector 4
  • Bachelors and 5+ years of engineering work experience, or a Masters degree and 3+ years of engineering work experience. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of process engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • NX, Catia or other 3D modeling experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program Access
Sr. Principal Tool Gauge Inspector 4
  • Bachelors and 9+ years of engineering work experience, or a Masters degree and 7+ years of engineering work experience. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of process engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • NX, Catia or other 3D modeling experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with composite manufacturing techniques & processes
  • Experience with tool design and analysis
  • Experience with managing projects and suppliers for tool manufacturing & delivery
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement (lean/6-sigma training/certification)
Salary Range: $75,400.00 - $113,200.00Salary Range 2: $93,500.00 - $140,300.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD
