This position is responsible for ensuring fuel system and aftertreatment test equipment reliably assesses product quality and supporting operations in achieving operational excellence through driving improvements in PQVC. location: Pontiac, Illinois job type: Contract salary: $30.53 - 35.52 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: + Develop and execute processes for complying with engineering testing specifications. + Ensure production testing process stops defects detectable at test from being passed to customers. + Develop and execute test bench control processes ensuring test equipment is in statistical control, on target, and exhibiting acceptable variation. + Provide manufacturing engineering support to maintenance and operations in identifying and resolving test equipment and test process issues. + Plan and execute NIST traceable calibrations. + Utilize statistical tools such as Minitab to monitor test machine performance and customer engine performance. + Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) techniques such as ANOVA to assess measurement system variation. + Serve as testing subject matter expert (SME) on Lean, First Test Pass, and other teams driving factory PQVC improvements. + Recommend and implement equipment upgrade and continuous improvement projects for existing test equipment. + Partner with Advanced Planning on test equipment new capital introduction (NCI) projects. + Work with engineering and the operations team on resolving complex problems affecting product and test performance. + Support implementation quality certifications such as ISO9000. Skills: + Thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, quality systems, ISO9000 etc. + Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems utilized in test equipment. + Experience with print reading including electrical and hydraulic schematics. + Ability to plan and execute NIST traceable calibrations. + Excellent troubleshooting skills. + Advanced computer applications skills. + knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical, experience in gauging process used in mechanical, computer & troubleshooting skills.
