Job Overview

Test Engineer - As a Test Engineer you will define test and automation strategy and develop effective test execution plan aligned to program milestone. Our client is looking for candidates with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving, analytical, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Work Schedule

Term: 6 months contract assignment
Start date: Immediately
Schedule: Day shift
Est. Reg. Hrs/Wk: 40 hrs/wk
Est. OT Hrs/Wk: 8 hrs
Compensation: $41 - $47/hr
Work location/environment: Kapuskasing, ON; Cold weather, test facility

Required Skills and Experience

BS in Engineering, Electrical or Computer Science
3+ years of test automation experience in embedded systems or automotive industry
Strong experience with test automation frameworks, tool development and scripting
Solid knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies and tools

Responsibilities

Review driver comment logs daily and track recurring themes for investigation
Coordinate with data acquisition specialist for any drivability/VDR concerns noted
Collaborate with Coordinators to prioritize driver comment severity
Participate in daily vehicle starts
Interface with driving staff during investigations and daily vehicle starts
Produce weekly status reports for all supported programs, as well as joining weekly durability calls when available
Execute regularly scheduled vehicle evaluation drives, and participate in mechanical inspections to document issues
Assisting Data Acquisition Specialist with data captures on an as-needed basis
Investigate issues, and collect relevant data (photos, video, measurements) to substantiate the issue
Document issue findings
Collaborate with Team Lead and Vehicle Validation Engineers (as needed) on potential issues, and determine next steps (PRTS, or monitor)
Prepare PRTS presentations
Contact appropriate stakeholders (DRE's, GPS, etc.) to share findings documented in presentation to bring awareness of issues
Determine if issues are known, if not begin to prepare PRTS
Prepare PRTS in Draft status, and attach presentation
Participate in program team reviews/discussions of issues brought to light
Operation of pre-production, and production vehicles
Collaborate with Lead Mechanic to identify require part changes on vehicles, and communicate requirements to Coordinator/Shipping
