The NASA Sky Range program is developing and integrating new capabilities to support flight operations for advanced sensors on a fleet of unmanned aircraft providing range support for hypersonic capability development. The Sky Range team is looking for an engineer to support flight and ground control room data systems as well as real-time satellite communications. We are looking for a flexible, motivated individual to be based at the NASA Armstrong facility at Edwards Air Force to help maintain and grow our capabilities as well as support integration of new sensors.

The NASA Sky Range Program is seeking an Aircraft Test and Maintenance Manager 1 to supervise the day to day maintenance of modified Global Hawk aircraft supporting a special DoD mission in partnership with NASA at the Armstrong Facility at Edwards AFB.

The Role Requires a working knowledge of and experience with aircraft routine maintenance, TOs, and flight support. Candidates will need to have an understanding of company documentation, policies and safety requirements. Should have a proven ability to manage a team in a development and test environment. To be successful, the person will need strong relationship skills and the ability to work with a NASA team at their facility.

Direct responsibilities include assigning work to meet schedule, ensuring quality and safety requirements are met, completing work order documentation, managing timecards, maintain aircraft configuration, and ability to work closely with NASA personnel.

The NASA team works a 9/80B schedule, and some travel and overtime may be expected. 2nd shift hours are typically between 2:00pm - 11:30pm.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years' experience in aircraft maintenance or 8 years' experience in lieu of a degree
  • 1 years' experience in supervisory role and/or leadership
  • Proven knowledge of flight test policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage a team in a development and test environment
  • Working knowledge of Tech Orders and related maintenance documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Requires an Active in-scope DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 9/80B schedule and some 15% travel / overtime
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
  • Experience with Global Hawk aircraft highly desired
Salary Range: $108,700 USD - $163,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
