Job Summary
The Technician repairs, troubleshoots and evaluates production boards/units. The Technician also supports evaluations, repairs of RMA units, and facilitates records of their findings. This is more commonly referred to as a bench tech and works on the production floor.
Responsibilities
The technician will cross train into other skill sets to facilitate flexibility in production.
The technician replaces defective components and wiring.
The technician tests electronic components and circuits to locate defects, using oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters, and voltmeters and other measurement equipment as required.
The technician maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests and documents related processes.
The technician examines and adjusts or repairs finished products, components, or parts.
May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency or not related to this classification.
Education/ Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Troubleshoot & repair printed circuit boards down to the component level.
3 years' experience in the electronics industry preferred.
Electronic trade school experience/certification or equivalent work experience
Intermediate level computer skills.
Current or expired IPC training is a plus
