Edge Systems Integration Legacy Lead
Role and Scope of Position:
Plans, coordinates and performs engineering assignments in support of the design, analysis, evaluation, retrofit, operation, and maintenance of assigned facilities or projects. Assumes direct responsibility for coordination of assigned projects.
Essential Functions:
Performs analysis and evaluations with regard to operational events with safety significance. Implements design change/retrofits, including procedure preparation, procurement, craft liaison, retest and design document updating.
Recommends corrective action based on review of system operations.
Performs technical review of design for facilities under construction.
Performs technical reviews of purchase requisitions to specify technical and documentation requirements. Coordinates personnel, develops schedules and evaluates work plans required to support assignments. Responds to requests for engineering/technical assistance from other departments.
Prepares cost-benefit analyses in support of proposed engineering assign ments.
Interfaces with other technologists and engineers to provide assistance in implementation of their projects.
Resolves regulatory commitments, including Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) bulletins and inspections, American Nuclear Insurers (ANI) inspections and other regulatory requirements, such as PUCA, DPU, FEC, etc. Performs engineering calculations as necessary to effect design verification, installation, and component procurement.
Prepares input to regulatory submittals and other special reports necessary to maintain the facilities in a licensed condition. Represents client as an active participant on industry committees, professional societies, or special owners' groups governing the utility field, as assigned.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations affecting analysis, design, operations and maintenance of plant/facility systems.
Ability to apply engineering and economic principles. Ability to analyze information, determine relevant facts, and make decisions.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of the NU organization and with counterparts in outside organizations.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
Education/ Experiences: Must have a baccalaureate degree in engineering technology. Three to five years of experience in engineering or engineering support activities.
