ROLE SUMMARY

The incumbent works as part of a Pfizer-Sanford, NC-based Technical Operations team that perform scientific, operational and process engineering tasks that support vaccine and gene therapy product manufacturing. The role will be responsible for becoming a SME on the change control and risk assessment system/ process tools for the site, planning timelines/interim milestone schedules, and communicating them to the various cross-functional partners/SMEs involved with each project. The role will support technical leads with subject matter expert (SME) knowledge in specific technical areas, and will also interact with cross-functional partners bringing SME knowledge in non-technical spaces (example: Operations, Quality, Regulatory, etc).

The incumbent works with some direct supervision in a hybrid work environment (mixed onsite and remote presence). The incumbent must be comfortable with engineering/scientific technical writing, basic project management practices, and enjoy working in cross-functional teams.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Responsibilities include the following Technical Operations workstreams:

• Serve as a Technical Operations department subject matter expert for the Pfizer-Sanford change control system. Serve as a Technical Operations department subject matter expert for the Pfizer-Sanford risk assessment process. Partner with Technical Operations Product/Process/Validation leads to plan change controls or risk assessments, providing subject matter knowledge as it pertains to the change control or risk assessment systems/processes. Author change controls owned by Technical Operations, and serve as project manager for coordinating change controls to approval and subsequent closure. Facilitate risk assessments owned by Technical Operations, using various risk assessment tools/processes made available by the site and the greater Pfizer network. In some instances, provide risk assessment authors with project management support coordinating risk assessment approvals. Raise/escalate concerns for schedule on behalf of working teams through Technical Operations and Pfizer-Sanford governance structure as needed. Represent Technical Operations in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives relating to the change control and risk assessment programs, including providing continuous improvement feedback to Pfizer-Sanford program owners.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 3 years of experience OR Masters with more than 1 year of experience.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Some standing, sitting, and basic lifting activities associated with an office-based support role for manufacturing is required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Schedule is primarily M-F day shift.

• The position is considered hybrid; there is some onsite presence required, but also offers flexibility of remote work.

• No/minimal travel required for this position.
