Team Lead, Product Life Cycle and Improvement Requisition ID: 28008 Job Location(s): Longmont, CO, US Job Description Reporting to the Director of Operations in Longmont, Colorado, the Team Lead for Product Maintenance and Improvement (PMI) is responsible for managing the PMI Engineering team. The ideal candidate is a natural leader and aspiring to manage a diverse engineering team in charge of maintaining and improving the products through their life cycles. The individual will perform PMI, cost down, such as customer changes, DFM/DFA, and material substitutions within a specific engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical engineer) and has the capability to complete technical engineering tasks and contribute within major PMI projects or lead smaller PMI projects. Job Responsibilities Leads PMI engineering team and coordinates tasks within the team Communicates product improvement and cost down ideas to PMI Engineering manager or Director. Helps drive best technology, highest value and best engineering practice adoption. Demonstrates Efficiency of work and Ensures highest Productivity for PMI tasks assigned. Facilitates Engineering support function in Change Control process (Team Center), functions as Change Administrator and executes Engineering Tasks in CR and CN in planned time. Supports and Advises Manufacturing, Procurement and other operations functions on Product Engineering such as for Disposition of materials, evaluation of alternative parts or materials from product engineering viewpoint. Provides accurate estimates (hours & Timing) for project within workstream to assist with planning including projects for PMI such as Customization (Customer Changes), manufacturability, quality and cost down. Report performance to management weekly, KPIs Utilizes Labs, facilities and Equipment (if applicable) in a way that ensures safety 1st culture, suggests maintenance and capabilities necessary for safest possible workplace and work efficiency. Frequent check-in with team leadership in project workstreams and Engineering manager to ensure inputs are in place to complete assignments on time with required quality (technical, process & coordination), follows Danfoss PDP. Provides input to R&D budget, including Capex to ensure team has proper staff, tools and equipment for PMI and PMI projects Work with Sales and Applications Engineering Teams to define specifications for customer specific products Supports Sales for resource estimation and requirement analysis within the Engineer's Engineering discipline. Participates in technical development activities with other Engineers at front end before project approval -> PDP portfolio management with product management Evaluates PMI customization ideas for product continuity, configurability, quality, manufacturability and cost Support and influence the R&D team culture of being customer centric and continuously improving Background & Skills Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 3-5 years' experience demonstrating ability to lead projects and diverse teams. Change Control and PDP Works in Teamcenter and within Danfoss Change Control processes and Danfoss PDP to effectively executed CR and CNs for Engineering functions. CAD M-CAD, Works in Siemens NX and/or ProEngineer to make product changes in CAD. Engineering Analysis - Utilizes a variety of engineering tools to provide analysis of engineering changes for (Pre-Test Validation), including but not limited to Spreadsheet Calculations, Tolerance Analysis, stress calculations, thermal, FEA, etc. Preferred: Electric Powertrain Design, engineering, preferred Automotive Engineering Experience, preferred Electronics Engineering experience, preferred Job Criteria: Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers/clients Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Share information and communicate openly Demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills Advanced English Compensation Data HIRING SALARY RANGE: $92,000-$117,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
