Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supports an enterprise environment from design through implementation Installs, configures and upgrades workstations, servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment Investigates diagnostic testing, repair and resolution of system, software and infrastructure issues Examples of Duties UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION Confers with computer professionals, vendors and manufacturer?s technicians to coordinate, upgrade, install, maintain, effectively integrate and resolve problems or errors Completes configuration, installation and support of equipment in a primarily Microsoft Windows environment to the specifications of client proposals Provides both on-site and remote support Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support Completes time logs in work order system Designs and develops solutions Recommends integration and support Troubleshoots and resolves complicated computer and telephony related issues Designs and supports Directory Services Enterprises messaging support Provides Tier IV Service Desk ticket support Manages assigned projects and program components Provides technical assistance and support Supervises the administration of systems and server related network to ensure availability of services to authorized users Names services support (DNS, WINS and related) Maintains software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance Performs related work Minimum Requirements Associate's degree Business Administration Computer Science Engineering Technology Liberal Arts Library Science Physical Science Public Administration Social Science Related field WORK EXPERIENCE Three years of server, internet, Systems Engineer or Systems Administration experience in a client/server environment EQUIVALENCY An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check Must be on 24 hour call Must work a varied schedule Must provide one's own source of transportation Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be certified as a Certified: Systems Engineer, Systems Administration or equivalent industry certification PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work Supplemental Information Ability to work well as part of a team Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision Must work accurately with attention to detail Ability to multitask and effectively manage expectations Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with all those contacted in the course of work Ability to perform analytical and technical work Advanced knowledge of supported technologies, various desktop and software applications Interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills are required DESIRABLES: 2 years of experience working with IT vendors and developers to coordinate, upgrade, install, maintain, effectively integrate, and resolve problems or errors Ability to translate business needs to systems input/output requirements, solicit modifications to adapt systems to an evolving business requirements/need 3 years of working experience providing technical assistance and instruction, and communicates with users and other IT staff related to task associated with computer operations, data base, software and hardware capabilities, and to resolve problems and malfunctions 2 years of training users on operating new systems and converting data to new system master files Knowledge of hardware, software and network support for PCs and PC-based peripherals Proficient with Azure, SQL, SharePoint, APIs, Encryption and Workday
