We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Security Engineer/Principal Systems security Engineer based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. As a Systems Security Engineer/Principal Systems Security Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation.

What You'll get to Do:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software. In this role, the Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (SE) assesses and tests system cybersecurity requirements, system security architecture, and system security layout. Additionally, a Cyber SE performs cyber-attack path analysis of system architectures and is responsible for the security governance, risk management, and compliance of a system while it is being engineered for the customer.

Basic Qualifications for Systems Security Engineer:
  • BS with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) degree with 2+ years of related experience or MS STEM degree with 0 years of experience
  • Ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a SAP (Special Access Program) clearance
  • DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE
  • Cybersecurity/Information Assurance experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset
  • Advanced troubleshooting of hardware, software and networking issues
  • Must be able to obtain Interim Secret Clearance prior to start. Once started, must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
