Job Overview

In this role, you have the opportunity to The incumbent will be a strong technical leader, providing direction and establishing short and long-term goals to the systems engineering staff. This role is a technical manager role, where one leads a world class systems team, as well as still making individual technical contributions on the team. You are responsible for Lead systems design and development of next generation data storage and transfer systems Lead systems engineering team in defining systems architectures and systems requirements, developing test plans and procedures, and conducting verification and validation testing Drive systems development process including requirements management, system design, integration, verification and validation activities Drive Model Based System Engineering processes Drive risk management efforts and ensure critical risks have been addressed and understood by engineering and program management teams Has overall control of systems engineering staffing, and works with engineering management on budgeting, managing expense priorities Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function Act as technical liaison with manufacturing/operations and program management Work with program management to develop budgets and schedules and ensure systems engineering team executes per program plan Drive successful product migration to manufacturing You are a part of You will work closely with diverse technical teams composed of systems, hardware and software engineers to develop and sustain products for the Data Systems Product Line. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience Experience with avionics applications Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in product development and failure investigations Expert in electronic systems/subsystems that consist of software, firmware and hardware with the end goal of developing the detailed design and test methods for these systems Expert in analyzing and fixing complex software and firmware issues from a system-level viewpoint Knowledge in the use of test equipment such as vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and high-speed oscilloscopes Experience with high speed memories and interfaces desired Experience with Linux Multimedia frameworks such as Gstreamer, ALSA and V4L2 desired Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP and FTP desired Experience with requirements management tools, such as Jama Experience with Model Based System Engineering tools, such Cameo Experience with Issue Tracking tools, such as JIRA Experience with collaboration tools, such as Confluence Purpose: This position manages experienced professionals in the Systems Engineering sub-family, who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
