Job Overview

As a junior test systems engineer, you are responsible for coordinating across all engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements. The qualified candidate must be a systems thinker, able to see the "big picture," and have some knowledge of test environments such as development labs, production test equipment, User Operations, or embedded test processes and practices. The systems engineer must be willing to learn how prime hardware should be tested at every assembly level to ensure robustness and efficiency.

You will apply experience and working knowledge of developmental test processes, test set-ups and integration, test equipment design with transition to the factory, and verification / validation of product hardware using proven test systems, methodologies and techniques. Detailed capabilities and requirements established are flowed to Test Equipment designers. Requirements management and traceability is crucial to leverage and apply future reuse of Test Environment requirements and models. In this role, you will ensure comprehensive lifecycle testing that is both robust and affordable.

Additional expertise in the following areas will be viewed as a plus:

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) demonstrated experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) tools.
  • Customer Affordability Intense focus on affordability can drive well-defined test requirements and realistic parametric test limits with cost-effective, achievable measurement techniques.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or other engineering discipline.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines. ABET accreditation preferred.
  • Any experience in Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline with an emphasis in test requirements development, test planning, test techniques, test methodologies, test requirements documents, embedded test fundamentals, and integration, verification, and validation for test.
  • Understand how to develop, decompose, and manage system requirements across a product lifecycle such as design and transition to production, including tools such as DOORS
  • Exposure to test related activities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Experience in developing Integrated Test and Evaluation Plans.
  • Exposure in Model Based Engineering processes, techniques, and tools, with understanding of Unified Modeling Language (UML), and/or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering standard views such as Block Definition Diagrams, Context Diagrams, Use Cases, Sequence Diagrams, and Flow Diagrams.
  • Past experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and/or design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with Agile processes and techniques.
