Job Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY: Cash Supervisor will serve as a resource to assist patients with resolving patient account issues along with assisting other collector/customer services analysts and supporting the early out department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Provides introductory and ongoing training and education to staff to ensure that policies and procedures are followed. 2. Assists with staff communication, providing updates, resolving issues, and maintaining standards. 3. Supervision of the cash staff to ensure cash procedures and policies are followed. 4. Meets with leadership regularly to effectively communicate and resolve customer service issues, set and prioritize goals and improve processes. 5. Serve as a resource to other analysts within the Cash area. 6. Analyze accounts for quality and accurate postings. 7. Confer with appropriate resources to obtain additional information and clarification needed to resolve problems. 8. Communicate with all parties in a professional manner and provide explanations regarding the account. 9. Maintains a professional image and provides excellent customer service. 10. Attends department meetings and education sessions. 11. Meets/exceeds performance expectations within required timeframes. 12. Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and Mission and Values statement. 13. Supports special projects as requested. 14. Adheres to all Beaumont Health Business Services Policies and Procedures. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and/or identified by the organization. 8. Maintains current licensure, registration and/or certification, as applicable, at all times. Education / Training: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred B. Work Experience: Minimum three (3) years of related customer service experience, preferred in a health care environment Minimum one (1) year of related supervisory or leadership experience required C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: None D. Other Qualifications: Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing Customer orientation - established and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties PC skills - demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required Policies and Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems. Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately. Technology skills - requires knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, networks and common software packages available to support database and spreadsheet applications. General knowledge of relevant system support and troubleshooting.
