Job Overview
Position Summary:
They would be helping us get caught up on our Supplier update logs. So they literally will be spending all day calling suppliers and entering updates into the log. If that gets caught up, we definitely could still continue to utilize them in the Supply Chain area during this 6-12 period.
The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for maintaining product-planning strategies that will ensure efficient throughput, maximize inventory utilization at all levels, satisfy customer demand, and maximize return on assets.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Will work with direction and report to the Division Supply Chain Manager. This position will interface routinely with all plant and division functions including engineering, manufacturing, and sales/marketing along with customers and suppliers.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for Managing Pull Systems, Inventory Control, and Customer Service performance.
Planning: Physical Execution of Kanban system (communicate plan with team, make Kanban cards, Kanban board, organize layout, implement) Audit Kanban system
Review and adjust Kanban system as required Inventory Use visual management techniques for improved inventory management and reorder point
- Inventory reduction: monitor and manage inventory turns to meet plan
Customer Service- Monitor customer request dates- Review for exceptions or delivery problems
Supplier Relations:- Releasing Kanban signal to supplier via purchase order
- Participate in decision-making regarding supplier issues.
Qualifications:
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
Must have intermediate computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
