National Grid is hiring a Supervisor, Gas Meter Shop for our MA Gas Operations department in Wilmington, Massachusetts.

Job Purpose
The Supervisor will supervise and direct employees in the meter shop to ensure operations comply with regulatory standards.

Key Accountabilities
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Monitor performance of allocated staff, including issues relating to sickness, discipline, and standards of work to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively
  • Contribute to the protection of the public and organizational personnel by ensuring all materials, standards, and procedures are in line with National Grid safety policies and processes
  • Act as the first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies to provide support and ensure National Grid delivers against service level agreements
  • Manage the highest type of work associated with installing, testing, using, repairing, and maintaining all types of gas meters and associated electronic instruments and devices
  • Supervise the mandated inspections, acceptance, and standardization tests of gas meters and associated electronic equipment and devices
  • Utilize experience and thorough knowledge of high and low-pressure gas systems and natural gas properties to monitor and supervise direct reports


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a technical discipline is required
  • 5+ years of related work experience in electric/gas operations/utility in a supervisory or leadership role required
  • Must have an excellent working knowledge of gas meters and associated meter-related devices
  • Valid driver's license required

Salary

$88,000 - $103,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
