Superintendent - Concentrator Scheduling A company with a world-class reputation for safety and performance Lead a team that develops and communicates production plans to key stakeholders for the Bingham Canyon's mineral deposit Excellent opportunity to work in a global company with broad opportunities - Rio Tinto Concentrator- Salt Lake City, UT About the role We are looking for a Superintendent - Concentrator Scheduling to join the Rio Tinto Kennecott Minerals Productivity and Scheduling team to support the business and operations through operations scheduling, technical analysis, and collaborating with multiple teams and sites on improvement projects. This role is a great opportunity to develop your mining and milling skills. Reporting to the Manager - Productivity and Scheduling, primarily you will be: Responsible for leading a team of engineers that generate and publish the scheduling plans in both the daily and weekly space Collaborating with Mine Scheduling, Ore Body Knowledge, Asset Management, Operations, and Metals/Minerals teams to optimize the ore delivery and mineral processing strategies Responsible for overseeing the annual capital budget for the concentrator, working with stakeholders in the asset management, operational, and technical teams Managing operations and asset management consumables Managing contractors to ensure safety and business objectives are achieved Secondarily you will be asked to: Identifying and executing cost savings initiatives and improvement projects Assist with concentrator performance projects and analysis Support safety projects and incident management efforts Prepare reports to display team KPI's, month end projections and forecasts, and monthly reconciliation Conduct financial analyses for capital requests/approvals About you To succeed in this role, you will have: A Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent studies 5+ years' experience working in processing Strong safety mentality and familiarity with safety systems Proven ability to operate independently and in small multi-discipline teams Experience working in technical teams, contributing to projects, and an ability to build collaborative relationships Well-developed analytical skills and technical competencies Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Office It will also be beneficial if you have: Knowledge of copper ore processing Knowledge of mining operations Knowledge of maintenance or production planning Ability to lead technical teams Project Management skills What we Offer We are committed to providing our employees with a generous benefits package.
