This position will be responsible for providing engineering and design leadership for all substation projects which are engineered with the Southern California area internal staff.

The primary duties of the Substation Engineering Manager include knowledge, leadership, and execution of technical aspects and deliverables for high voltage electrical substation projects up to 500kV

Supports the technical aspect of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development and implementation, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management

Coordinates and/or performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables per the company's Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures to deliver a world class quality product to the client

Works with department managers, project managers, and other counterparts in different offices, to direct and coordinate resources in the most effective manner considering client needs and business objectives

Prepares and monitors the substation engineering's organization budget and expenditure of staffing hours, supplies, training, and equipment.

Responsible for the development of annual goals and conducting performance evaluations at the end of the year as well as meeting with direct reports on a regular basis to track and monitor progress to support career development.

Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

Required

Minimum of 12 years of specialized experience in Substation Engineering, including 5 or more years managing design engineering professionals.
