RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals.
Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines.
Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training.
Developing drawings and assist in the preparation of design packages using CAD/drafting skills; drawings include:
Substation Electrical Arrangement
Substation Electrical Sections (Elevations)
Substation Electrical Connection Details
Substation Below Grade Conduit Plan and Details
Substation Cable Trench Plan and Details
Substation Equipment Grounding Plan and Details
Substation Lightning Protection Plan
Substation Outdoor Illumination Plan
Substation Detailed Bill of Material
Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Section
Preparing additional support documentation as needed to assist procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance of systems being designed.
Consistently following established design standards and CAD drafting standards while assuring quality, accuracy and completeness.
Identifying process improvement ideas and commuting ideas through appropriate management channels.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
Experience in directly related to working with electricity, preferably in utilities.
Must have strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (a plus).
Microsoft Office product application.
Excellent document management and organization skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of projects and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
