Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering Focus

Experience: 6-10 years experience in structural engineering with a focus in building structures

Professional: Professional Engineer license


SUMMARY

Experienced Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in structural or civil engineering field seeking to expand their engineering knowledge and responsibility in a multi-discipline company. Structural experience within the AEC industry is required. Experience with retail/prototypical work is preferred but not required. Experience with non-prototypical and government work is preferred. A P.E. license with a focus in structures is required (civil, SE1 or 16-hr SE).

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Be able to accurately and precisely engineer a variety of structural systems
  • Be able to establish budgets for the structural work and work with project managers in developing the project plan and schedule for a project
  • Provide engineering input to CADD personnel to complete Construction Documents
  • Interact with engineers to complete Construction Documents
  • Gather information from and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Mentor younger staff
  • Manage work of younger staff for multiple project types and schedules
SKILLS
  • Must have experience in Revit
  • Must have experience in AutoCAD
  • Must be intimately familiar with the structural chapters of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360
  • Preference for experience with RISA analysis software suite
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Soft Skills such as being able to critique without criticizing others or their work are required
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, owners, contractors and team members
  • Must have effective written and oral communication and be able to utilize multiple communications platforms
