Responsibilities:
NV5 Engineers and Consultants, Inc., is seeking a Structural Engineer (Bridge) for our Cary, NC or Alpharetta, GA office. This position will be an essential team member responsible for the design and delivery of complex and simple bridge projects in various geographic locations in accordance with state and federal standards.
The most frequent and essential work activities include:
Responsible for leading the design of structures associated with land development and transportation projects. Including, but not limited to bridges, culverts and retaining walls.
Work in cooperation with structures staff in the Cary office to deliver contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies and state DOTs.
Responsible for designing structural components, report writing, development of plans, specifications and estimates, quality control and assurance activities.
Quickly learn and apply technical mathematical concepts and engineering design skills, helping others learn them as well.

Qualifications:
BSCE required. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering a plus
North Carolina PE required.
8+ years engineering experience designing bridge projects
State DOT Bridge Design Experience required
Proficiency with Microstation and Leap Bridge Concrete design software
Strong understanding of structural behavior and mechanics of materials.
Independently and accurately completing engineering calculations for reinforced or prestressed concrete and steel structures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications/Licenses:
NC or ability to obtain within 6 months.
