The Designer will plan, schedule and assign/supervise or conduct broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.

The Designer will plan, schedule and assign/supervise or conduct broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing structural/architectural drawings from conceptual to detailed design, and project construction drawings
- Developing 3D structural/architectural models using Microstation V8, 3D AutoCAD and E3D
- Coordinating work with other related discipline engineers and designers
- Working closely with supervisor and checkers from start to completion of tasks/projects and in a team environment with other disciplines
- Operating within the company's Quality system and Safety Policy in all phases of assignments
Skills / Qualifications
- Technical Diploma in Civil/Structural
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a Structural Designer role within heavy industrial or mining & metals
- Minimum 5 years AutoCAD and 3 years PDMS, E3D
- Knowledge of other 3D softwares will be an asset
- Knowledge with using MS Office applications
- Excellent communication skills
- Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
- This position is Permanent. Relocation assistance or living allowances will not be provided for this position. Candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakville, ON office or be willing to relocate and live in Oakville area at own expense
