Job Overview
Stormwater Engineer with a wide variety of related experience to add to our Environmental Compliance Team. This position will primarily support the development and growth of our stormwater engineering-related services and participate in a wide variety of environmental projects. The successful candidate will have the following experience:
• Bachelor's degree in related engineering program from an accredited university
• PE license
• Performing hydrologic/hydraulic calculations using appropriate models
• Design of stormwater management facilities and features.
• Proficient knowledge of related engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues
• Proficient understanding of and well-defined experience with surface water analysis, hydrologic methodologies/models, hydraulic models, and with AutoCAD, MicroStation, project collaboration software, and ArcGIS software
• Inspections of stormwater management facilities and features.
• Well-defined knowledge with Stormwater Management, Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Delineation, etc
• Directing and reviewing work products prepared by junior staff including: Hydrology & Hydraulics Reports, SWPPPs, LID design, Cost Estimates, and related calculations, designs, evaluations, and specifications
• Support other (non-stormwater) environmental projects which may include wastewater, remediation, restoration, drinking water
• The ability to manage several projects concurrently, provide senior-level input and evaluation on projects, and serve as technical leader
• Proficient ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements
• Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
• Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution
• Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
• Ability to travel to project sites (DC metro area)
• The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
