We have an excellent staff of highly skilled professionals consisting of civil and geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, scientists, laboratory and field technicians, deputy inspectors, drafting CADD, drilling, and support personnel specialized. In addition, we have licensed and experienced deputy inspectors and technicians specialized in their respective fields (including concrete, masonry, batch plant, fireproofing, shotcrete, soils, structural steel, non-destructive testing, and welding) to provide construction observation and testing services.

Job Details


We are is looking for an exceptional Geotechnical Staff Engineer with an emphasis on geotechnical construction to join our team at our Torrance location. This position requires to have a solid understanding and grasp of geotechnical concepts.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Be part of a variety of projects including educational facilities, private developments, and infrastructure improvements in a variety of markets.
  • Work in geotechnical construction-phase projects overseeing and coordinating the work of field technicians/inspectors.
  • Organize and coordinate field tasks with other team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical analysis, and report preparation and writing.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements and explain work.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


Skills And Knowledge Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical experience.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering, a plus
  • California PE license required, GE license a plus
  • Basic knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
  • Working knowledge of software such as gINT, SLIDE, LPile, and others.
  • Experience with geotechnical inspection work and working on an active construction job site.
  • Be experienced enough to oversee and coordinate work from geotechnical technicians and inspectors.
  • Ability to develop complex solutions while thinking on one's feet and perform business development tasks, when needed.
