YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

• Proficient in the application of a broad set of analytical and technical tools within multiple BAYER technical disciplines HVAC systems, equipment, and controls;
• Developing the technical skills and knowledge to function in a second technical discipline;
• Proactively seeks assignments and works to identify breadth of tasks. May take lead role in selected technical activities or lead projects and other team members;
• Proficient with the analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical problems within primary technical discipline (HVAC);
• Capable of identifying maintenance risks on equipment, especially within primary technical discipline and how to escalate problems when they arise;
• Handles multiple concurrent projects, understands priorities of assigned tasks, and plan daily activities accordingly. Develops creative solutions to challenging problems;
• May provide guidance to lower-level designers/technicians;
• May include training, mentoring, or coaching;
• Collaborates with a broad group of cross functional staff;
• Provides input and may participate in recruiting and selecting teams;
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays, as needed;
• Provide technical expertise in a manufacturing environment to support projects and troubleshoot technical issues. May be responsible for training other technicians or serving as lead technician on a shift.

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED Required;
• Associate degree required, or two year trade/military school required;
• A required minimum of five years Facilities Maintenance Technician experience or equivalent, including expertise in HVAC systems and controls;
• Possesses the required analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical problems within multiple technical disciplines, HVAC systems/equipment and controls;
• Electrical and Plumbing skills are strongly encouraged;
• Handles multiple concurrent projects, understands priorities of assigned tasks, and plan daily activities accordingly. Develops creative solutions to challenging problems;
• Required experience working in an FDA regulated or cleanroom environment;
• Knowledge of requirements for critical air handling equipment;
• Moderate freedom to act;
• Works in a highly structured environment with the ability to apply technical expertise within maintenance and project environment requiring limited supervision.
