The Sr. Staff MMIC RFIC Design Engineer position serves as an expert for Northrop Grumman's MMIC and RFIC product development. You will be joining an industry leading, technically broad, foundry independent design team generating products for cutting edge systems and applications.
Position Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will perform and advise junior engineers on RF/microwave highly integrated circuit design and architecture including requirements derivation, schematic capture, schematic simulation, circuit layout, electro-magnetic simulation, verification (DRC and LVS), and device test and characterization.
Typical designs include:
- Low noise amplifiers (LNA)
- Power amplifiers (PA)
- Mixers
- Switches
- Phase shifters
- Attenuators
- Filters
Qualifications:
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Qualifications:
- Sr. Staff MMIC RFIC Design must have a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree with 14 years' experience; Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree with 12 years' experience; Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree in RF/Microwave, MMIC, or RFIC design with 9 years' experience.
- Sr. Staff Engineers should have a demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing mid-level and senior engineers. Mentorship responsibilities are part of the position.
- Proficient with microwave design tools (ADS/Momentum, AWR Microwave Office, Cadence Virtuoso).
- Knowledge and experience with design, packaging, test, and troubleshooting of RF/microwave circuits.
- Experience working in a team environment and have the ability to lead a diverse and talented team of engineers
- Experience with technologies will include GaAs, GaN, InP, and SiGe.
Ability to perform RF front-end architecture development, system requirement derivation and decomposition to IC level is a plus - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance per business requirements. U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite
- Expertise including multiple patents/disclosures/relevant technical awards or external publications/presentations in the field of RF/microwave circuit design
- Proficiency with design CAD Tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre RF, ADS Suite, Mentor Calibre, and Verification Tools
- Experience designing in SiGe technologies is a plus.
- Active Secret Clearance
