The Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division of Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector seeks team members who want to solve interesting, complex problems which protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.

What you'll get to do?
As a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer, you will directly support the Ground SEIT IPT lead in leading the systems engineering and integration and test team in the campaign to refine requirements in support of the verification campaign, coordinate with customers to ensure alignment to contractually required product deliveries and documentation, influence the program's roadmap planning, and provide systems engineering guidance to the teams.

Some key tasks:
-Guide the segment thread leads as they refine verification plans and collect evidence to support requirement sell-off to the system.
-Work with product owners to ensure product roadmaps align with needed integration schedule and pipeline build plans
-Brief customers on status of development, verification, and other technical subjects requiring closure.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 14 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 12 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM with 9 years of related experience
  • Advanced experience using systems engineering principles and processes
  • Advanced experience in full R&V lifecycle
  • Subject matter expertise in elements of space systems
  • Direct experience with formally presenting technical solutions to senior leadership.
  • Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
  • Direct experience providing technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees to achieve practical end results
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SAP access
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
  • Subject matter expertise in ground systems
  • DevSecOps knowledge and experience
