Software Test Lead

Description
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS), a leader in software defined, hardware enabled systems for national defense applications, is developing a next-generation Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system for Engineering and Manufacturing product and process data. This system will be the foundation of our digital transformation and the future of advanced Engineering and Manufacturing capabilities and automation within the company, including Model-Based Engineering and Additive Manufacturing. As a member of the PLM Process and Architecture Team you will be participating in the development effort for the PLM system architecture in close collaboration with Enterprise Services/IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, and senior business leadership to deliver an integrated PLM system that meets cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software Test Lead will support the deployment of Teamcenter throughout Northrop Grumman Missions Systems as the PLM Solution. As a technical lead, the selected candidate will work collaboratively with development teams and key business representatives to enable the vision of the Northrop Grumman digital transformation and drive change implementation. The Software Test Lead will evaluate test automation suites, develop and maintain unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance test methodologies, and facilitate testing with development teams and test engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leading the overall test team, providing support to automated test developers, and reporting test results to senior level management prior to solution deployment.
This position could be located at any of our NGMS locations such as Baltimore, MD, San Diego, CA, Rolling Meadows, IL, or Woodland Hills, CA based on successful candidate's ability and qualifications.

Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluate, define, configure, and institute automated test tools, processes, and infrastructure to support Mission PLM development work.
- Oversee contractors assigned to stand up the test infrastructure.
- Execute testing across the entire PLM environment, including COTS software, configured COTS software, and full custom software including multiple integrations and middleware.
- Coordinate testing efforts, define time estimates for each test phase, and create test schedules.
- Advocate for Test-driven development.
- Manage automated tests and test applications.
- Provide work direction to test engineers participating in all test levels.
- Train test engineers and test participants on testing fundamentals based on ISTQB standards.
- Work with business partners to solicit internal users as testing resources when required.
- Create and maintain the Mission PLM test strategy and master test plan.
- Represent the testing group with senior level management.
- Provide testing status, generate reports, track metrics, and create test closure reports.
- Implement appropriate test techniques for test design and implementation.
- Manage and ensure adherence to the defect management process.
- Provide requirements for the testing environment, including guidelines to keep the virtual lab updated with test machines and hardware needed to support the testing effort.
- Evaluate the cost of quality for Mission PLM.
- Archive and organize test results and artifacts using configuration management tools.
- Keep current with advances in test practices and methodologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of test automation techniques and best practices.
- Experience leading technical teams with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to support testing needs of teams developing complex solutions in the Teamcenter environment.
- A background as a test automation engineer with experience writing automated scripts, documenting test cases, and implementing test driven design.
- Past involvement establishing greenfield test environments utilizing automation tools for unit, SIT, and regression testing.
- Experience with automated testing for GUI based, web, API, and script-based testing.
- Proven ability to manage complex test suites in a software configuration management system.
- Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops and Git or similar tools.
- Experience with complex Product Lifecycle Management Systems, especially Teamcenter applications related to Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Proficiency developing and deploying automated test suites.
- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment methodologies.
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with Agile and SAFe methodology.
- ISTQB Test Manager certification, advanced ISTQB level certification, or equivalent.
- Familiarity of TMMI Maturity framework.
