Job Overview
- While interfacing with design engineering, responsibilities may include management and review of comprehensive construction-focused engineering plans with an emphasis on safe, cost effective, and innovative designs to achieve client expectations and sustain Kiewit's legacy of excellence.
- The Sr. EPC Project Engineer may be responsible for leading the Project Controls team as well as operational and financial reporting. Duties include weekly reporting at project & department levels, staffing decisions, financial performance analysis, monthly reporting of operational results, and ongoing maintenance/development of performance metrics.
- The Sr. EPC Project Engineer may support construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing those management duties (i.e., project controls systems, subcontract and materials management, purchasing, commercial administration, and integrated scheduling).

- Provide leadership and coaching to manage and direct commercial, controls, and/or multi-discipline teams by collaborating, setting direction and expectations
- Accountable for overall ownership of indirect budgets, schedule development, and field engineering execution to meet project milestones and objectives
- Utilize Kiewit's unique integrated project controls environment along with industry execution knowledge and fundamental practices to manage EPC progress and performance
- Lead project change management processes to ensure the project scope of work, schedule, and budgets are clearly defined and understood
- Collaborate with operations management to make data-driven decisions, build relationships across matrix organizations, and establish effective controls
- Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for field engineering work
- Determine and oversee project controls, schedules, and budgets
- Serve as technical and/or commercial representative with customers, engineers, constructors, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project reviews, and other project stakeholder engagements
- Maintain on-going communication with project stakeholders, making adjustments as necessary to comply with project needs within contractual obligations, or adjust deliverables to meet customer needs
- Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure procedures are followed
- Provide training and mentoring to mid-level and senior engineers and/or project engineers to promote employee development, as well as providing performance evaluations
- Ensure all work products are consistent with industry codes and standards and in accordance with good engineering practice
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Advanced degrees or certifications a plus
- At least 10+ years' related experience and/or training, specifically in the oil, gas, and chemical engineering or construction industry with a proven track record of successful outcomes
- Project Management experience leading and influencing productive teams highly desirable
- Working knowledge and understanding of cost control, project controls terminology and project scheduling processes, and ability to understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
- Exposure to data analytics and machine learning preferred.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Ability to think strategically while identifying problems and developing creative solutions.
