Senior Electrical Design Engineer

To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design (CED) is in search of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer/Department Manager to join our team! Our ideal candidate will be able to design commercial electrical systems, maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors, and lead a team of staff to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

New Jersey with offices in California, Florida, and Texas. Our company provides mechanical,
electrical, refrigeration, energy management, plumbing, and fire safety design engineering
services. We work with an exciting variety of nationwide supermarkets (ShopRite, Trader Joe's,
Whole Foods, etc.), retail facilities (Walgreens, Party City, Kohls, etc.) multi-family residential

In this role, you will:

• Manage, assign/prioritize workloads, and provide leadership to junior engineers.
• Assess and anticipate deliverables, prepare budgets and schedules, and communicate
resource requirements to senior management.
• Represent CoolSys Energy Design in project meetings covering technical issues,
including meetings with utilities, owners, contractors, construction subcontractors, and
inspectors.
• Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including
engineering, quality control, and code compliance.
• Perform site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and
resolve design issues during the construction phase.
• Document production of small and large projects.
• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
• Prepare and create detailed engineering designs for a variety of building projects.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
• Perform calculations for a project, such as wire and conduit sizing, panel and breaker
sizing, fault current calculations, light fixture specifications, and photometric design.
• Perform engineering load, short circuit, and other electrical system calculations.
• Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure that design calculations and engineering drawings are constructible, comply with
code, and meet customer quality requirements and company standards.
