Job Overview
The Global Engineering Sterile Injectables and Biotech Engineering Team Lead is responsible for Capital and Asset Care of a network of 20 sites, across four continents. The GE lead will work closely with the Bio & SI Operating Unit leader, site leaders and other groups in Engineering and Global Technology & Engineering (GT&E) to ensure the success of engineering programs, projects, and technical support needed for new and marketed products. This leader will also have strong connections to other enabling functions including Quality, Global Environmental Health & Safety, Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.
This role will have responsibility for an annual Capital Plan of $1B ( 2,000 projects) and will have a team of technical SME's and Engineering Leads reporting to them and be responsible for enabling equipment and process elements of programs (including Lightspeed) and embedding Sustainability in support of the company's Net Zero by 2040 commitment. Responsibility also included providing relevant SME support to ensure rapid and effective resolution of supply issues across the Pfizer sites and network of External Supply Contract Manufacturers.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support and leadership to the Sterile Injectable and Biotech Operations Site Engineering Leaders and Global Sterile Injectable and Biotech Engineering teams
- Develop and promote key engineering strategies within GE and the OpU
- Ensure within teams that there is strong technical expertise in Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Optimization, Utility Operations, Equipment Design and reliability and Project Management
- Understand the business needs and ensure that the Sterile Injectable and Biotech Operations capital plan is meeting the strategic needs and is aligned with PGS capital plan
- Support Sterile Injectable and Biotech Operations major capital programs in alignment with the Capital Program Leader
- Lead, in alignment with the OpU leaders and sites, the capital program for the Sterile Injectable and Biotech Operations to ensure proper business-driven projects are identified and executed across the network
- Provide process and equipment SMEs to support technical transfers, resolution of technical issues, support capital projects and promoting knowledge sharing and technology replication.
- Develop Site Master Plan for all Sterile Injectable and Biotech Operations sites
- Communicate across the organization; foster and promote exchange of information and best practices
- Apply new, innovative and untried approaches to achieve targeted performance and results
- Continue to optimize EMU operational costs
- Ensure a robust talent planning process is in place in Global Engineering and across the engineering teams at the sites; provide input on career development opportunities for Engineering colleagues across the network
- Champion implementation of Engineering standards and processes for the Sterile Injectables and Biotech Operations that bring efficiencies and consistency
- Assess equipment / engineering performance at sites to ensure compliance and identify enhancements
- Prepare and control the team's annual budget
- Be an active member of the Global Engineering Leadership Team and the Sterile Injectables and Biotech Operations.
- Work with the GELT to deliver on GT&Es and GEs Strategy Blueprint and multi -year goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors' Degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science.
- Masters' Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
- 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with relevant experience in Design, Construction, Commissioning of Pharmaceutical or Chemical of Food Manufacturing Facilities and Plant Engineering Operations.
- The candidate should demonstrate both technical and business skills with the proven capability of effectively implementing business strategies and working collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
