Aerospace is seeking an innovative, expert systems engineer to help establish the role of characterizing the broad space enterprise across multiple mission areas. The newly instantiated Enterprise Architectures & Requirements (IAR) subdivision within Space Systems Architect Division is chartered to characterize the scope of national security space, identify gaps and shortfalls in space's capability to meet warfighter needs, and use those gaps to direct investments in needed analyses, programs of record, and science and technology. The IAR Lead Enterprise Architect will model the space architecture at a level of detail needed to describe the space order of battle and associated capabilities for use in programmatic and investment decisions. This position will require collaboration with multiple team members, especially with sister organizations within SSC. What You'll Be Doing Characterize the current and planned space enterprise architecture and identify needed analyses to prioritize the value of enterprise capabilities Lead system-of-systems and cross-mission area analyses Support definition, integration and delivery of space architectures and support architectural assessments to identify capability gaps Synthesize warfighter needs and proposed requirements from multiple sources to develop a list of enterprise requirements Promote architecture and systems engineering model interoperability and node/module integration with other areas within SSC Lead and perform analyses and coordination required to participate in national studies and other activities to determine high-level architectures that provide max warfighter support Perform acquisition planning and evaluation with a focus on providing Government decision makers with technically sound information concerning cost, schedule, and requirements What You Need to be Successful - Project Engineer Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, science or math 8 or more years of relevant professional engineering / scientific experience including program office and engineering Some travel required (post COVID-19) Ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholder organizations Proven systems engineering experience on complex system or system-of-systems architectures Current SCI access, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance What You Need to be Successful - Sr Project Engineer Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, science or math 12 or more years of relevant professional engineering / scientific experience including program office and engineering Some travel required (post COVID-19) Ability to proactively work across multiple SSC, other DoD, Agency and commercial organizations Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing system or system-of-systems architectures Current SCI access, which is issued by the US government.
