Position Overview
Provide hands-on leadership for a team of developers building abrasive waterjet CAM and controls applications, 2D/3D CAD applications, camera and machine vision applications, machine simulation and diagnostic tools, data collection applications and other utilities
Who you are and the experience you bring:
Lead the development, design, architecture, monitoring, and maintenance of OMAX software applications
Manage the day-to-day activities of the software engineering team within an Agile/Kanban environment
Ensure software quality and reliability objectives are met through manual/automated testing, unit testing, code reviews and other tools and processes
Supervise the overall software development lifecycle of OMAX applications
Work closely with the OMAX Product Engineering team to define and execute software development to facilitate new product releases
Oversee design and implementation of motion control and I/O systems
Continuously improve processes, frameworks, team dynamics, and organizational value
Mentor your team members' growth and career development
Collaborate with senior leaders on product vision and technical strategy
Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the reasonable scope of this position
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
7+ years of software development experience
Strong programming background in C#, with proficiency in at least one other language
Expertise in application design patterns and principles
Excellent knowledge of application development in Windows environments
Experience with software development lifecycle management, defect tracking tools,
and peer review
Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred experience that differentiates you:
Familiarity with machine tools, tool pathing, and/or robotics
Experience in Delphi programming language (maintenance of existing/legacy applications)
Prior software development team leadership experience
