Pikemann is searching for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Product Development Team in Bothell, WA.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you must be a hands-on leader capable of contributing technically while also managing your team and coordinating new product development initiatives. Design tradeoff analysis between mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software product requirements is one of the most important decision-making skills. You will be responsible for both research and prototyping of applications for prospective new goods, as well as the creation of medical products employing a rigorous quality system.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a software development team of 6 to 10 people to successfully produce apps for medical imaging equipment.
• Create and execute Agile software development procedures, as well as conduct and manage outside development resources.
• Drive continuous process improvement to efficiently design, develop, test, and support products for faster time to market.
• Use situational leadership skills to empower, coach, and mentor software development and test engineers in order to improve their abilities and performance.
• Manage and lead all aspects of the software lifecycle through technical project management.
• Collaborate closely with the Research and Hardware development teams, making architectural choices and balancing mechanical, electrical, and software design tradeoffs.
• Ensure software-related project planning and execution across organizational functions, such as marketing, RA/QA, and operations.
• Conduct a yearly written performance evaluation of engineering professionals.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of expertise with bare metal and/or embedded RTOS systems.
• 3+ years of experience leading software projects and teams
• Embedded system development experience (for example, MSP430, ARM Cortex A/M, x86/64, STM32)
• Capable of developing applications at several levels, such as bare metal systems, RTOS, and embedded Linux
• Understanding and applying ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304 standards to the production of medical devices
