We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineering Lead to join the team. You will design, build and maintain APIs that are critical to the success of EarnUp's Enterprise products and in support of our vision to create a financial system that works for everyone. The ideal candidate has a passion for delivering robust software systems and is driven to build incredible partner experiences. This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven and fast-growing Series C company.
You will:
Build Python microservices with an emphasis on technical best practices, observability, and composability
Maintain technical excellence through pull request reviews and mentorship
Work closely with product managers to identify and support product requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and enterprise integration
Design, build, and maintain APIs central to EarnUp's enterprise products
Configure and optimize services for performance and scale
Automate development and deployment processes
Mentor junior engineers and lead technical development
What you bring:
5+ years of professional experience
Strong Python skills, familiar with SQL (Postgres)
Keen eye for API design, familiarity with REST patterns
Passionate about testing and automation
Familiar with Continuous Integration (Github Actions, Flux
Familiar with containers (Docker)
Familiar with microservice architecture, development, and deployment
Knowledge of AWS infrastructure
Bonus
Fintech experience
B2B SAAS experience
Experience shipping public APIs from 0 to 1
Experience with Javascript/Typescript
Experience with GraphQL
