Job Description:

The Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication Department (EP&F) is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our team in 2023. The Mission of EP&F (also known as the Bike Shop) is to provide rapid, innovative, and affordable engineering solutions and prototype fabrication that demonstrate new technologies and capabilities, from concept through flight demonstration. We also provide quick-turn innovation, design, fabrication, assembly, and test capabilities in support of existing and future program engineering needs.

This position will be focused on, but not limited to, the design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of software for EP&F.

This position within the EP&F Department has the potential to be hardware integration intensive which will require you to be onsite daily. This position may require work in closed areas at various locations within the Tucson area. Start date will be 2023.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Involvement with product lifecycle from concept development to test.
• Working in a vertically integrated environment of many disciplines.
• Rapid reaction prototyping.
• Hands on involvement with hardware.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience developing and implementing high order programming languages (C#, C or C++ is preferred).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience developing and implementing code in a Linux Environment.
• Experience with various tools and services such as Azure DevOps, LabVIEW, and TestStand.
• Experience with development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces.
• Understanding the use of Unified Model Language (UML) to visualize software design.
• Experience with development and integration of Product Test Equipment hardware, firmware, and software.
• Able to perform successfully in an environment with frequent and direct interaction with customers and peers
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
• Current/Active DoD security clearance or SSBI.
