Job Overview
- Install, maintain, test, repair, remove or retrofit various wireless systems including rooftop macro, pole mount macro and small cells, indoor distributed antenna systems (IDAS) and outdoor distributed antenna systems (ODAS)
- Read blueprints and construction drawings
- Determine and pull best path routes
- Adhere to coax fiber, and power installation standards
- PPC compression tool kit installation
- Installation of antennas including rooftop, racks, and remote units
- DAS and small cell OEM installation
- Label coax cables, antennas and head end rack
- Perform cable sweeps using spectrum analyzers for return loss, insertion loss, and distance to fault testing
- Perform PIM testing and mitigation on cellular equipment
- Fusion splice fiber modes and connectors
- Use OTDR for fiber reports and troubleshoot links
- Operate a lift and/or bucket truck
- Assist engineers and management on various tasks as needed
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Testing and Integration of Wireless systems not limited to IN building, small-cell, macro.
- Rack and stack equipment in heads and remote locations
- Assists Engineers with tests and/or analysis of installed equipment
- Performs in-process and final quality inspections
- Provides work instruction to less experienced Technicians
- May serve as onsite contact to customer
- May serve as the site crew leader
- Could act as the liaison between Wireless technician and Construction Manager on duty.

- Ability to travel regionally for 60-80% of the time
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, lifts and in confined spaces
- Ability to work with and around electrical wires and components and/or ESD products
- Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites
- Ability to repeatedly ascend and descend ladders and lifts up to 90 feet
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Experience reading blueprints or construction drawings
- Ability to work with hand and power tools, as well as working knowledge of PPC compression tool and various RF test equipment
- Requires strong technical knowledge of current wireless Network products with minimal training performed and recorded on Safety, Business Code of Conduct and Quality assurance
- Formal "Basic Installation" training course is required (or equivalent on the job training)
- Ability to read and understand IBwave drawings and documentation as well as Red line the final as-builts.
- Mastery of the phases of the product installation
- Must be certified to run a scissor lift and boom lift
- Conducts work assignments, communicates, addresses and assists customers in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently while maintaining regular and timely communication with management regarding activities
- Executes the essential duties and responsibilities to meet timelines
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- 3 - 5 years of RF Field technician experience
- Minimum 2 yrs of wireless experienced
