Site Reliability Engineer Team Lead North America

The Site Reliability Engineering Lead, N.A. will work cross functionally with both U.S. based team members and global Cloud Ops teams to develop processes to manage operations, assist in technical standards development, assist in architecture development, leadership, and employee development. As a North American leadership position, this role is responsible for the hands-on Technology and Business services for operations and delivery of Cloud offerings. The role will collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Application Development, Corporate Systems, venders / service providers, and various infrastructure and operations groups to create and support an operational environment for new and existing services supported by Cloud Infrastructure.

The Site Reliability Engineering Lead, N.A. will also be responsible for directing, growing, and retaining a team of technical employees. The Site Reliability Engineering Lead, N.A. oversees the team's key performance indicators and operating procedures that nurture continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of managing Cloud Services including software deployment and upgrades, system setup, system administration, monitoring, incident resolution, problem management, configuration and change management, service desk, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management, disaster recovery and routine update of services.
Ensure timely liaison with vendors regarding problems, fixes, and required enhancements
Close working relationship with the acquisition teams for the integration of product related operational environments. You will work with the newly acquired business and the relevant Ideagen teams to help integrate new business units.
Work with the Head of Infrastructure & Operations and the wider Implementations, Service Delivery, Development and Support functions to deliver an on-going infrastructure services vision, to enable innovation, and seek to leverage IT trends that can create business value.
Communicate expectations and lead and coach individuals by example and regular feedback
Oversee and direct the timely evaluation, qualification, and implementation of new software products, tools, and related appliances as it pertains to the Cloud environment
Make decisions and recommendations regarding hosted architecture
Design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for infrastructure
In conjunction with the R&I and Enterprise Architecture teams ensure the implementation of best practice enterprise standards and technology architecture within Cloud Operations.
Provide applicable oversight to relevant cybersecurity requirements
Partner with Services and Support teams, where necessary
Be an escalation point for team members and resolve blockers
Coordinate with Ideagen functional and timezone leaders for overall successful delivery of Ideagen Cloud Operations.
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrable experience in production 24/7 high-availability multi-site, multi-vendor cloud-based SaaS environments including application hosting and data networks, security, and information security protection.
Experience managing AWS and/or Azure, Data Centre, and/or on-premises infrastructures.
Experience working with databases in both on-premise and cloud-based environments such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLAzure, Aurora MySQL & PostgreSQL
Experience supporting a Microsoft Stack (ASP.NET, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory, and Basic Networking) and various other technologies
Experience/knowledge of orchestration, containerisation and pipeline automation scripting and tooling i.e. Docker, Helm, Terraform & Kubernetes
Working knowledge of relevant cybersecurity requirements (SOC, ISO27001, FedRAMP, Etc.)
Ability to automate administrative tasks
Ability to effectively coach individuals while providing positive and constructive feedback
Experience mentoring and leading team members
Highly developed professional communication skills.
Ability to think critically and strategically.
Ability to work across departments to communicate and solve customer needs.
Capable of developing solutions given the needs and requirements
Passion for analytics, real-time data, and monitoring

Experience of working alongside development functions delivering software within an agile development environment.
