The Site Engineering Head is responsible for all aspects of the startup and 24/7 operation of RLT drug product manufacturing and the plant engineering and maintenance activities: Complete construction, commissioning, and qualification activities for new Indianapolis RLT manufacturing site to deliver a safe, compliant, and efficient operating facility Build a team of trained, qualified associates who will produce, package and ship the product; maintain the physical plant and production equipment, and manage radioactive waste Lead the facility engineering and maintenance team to deliver a reliable and cost-effective plant and utilities capable of operating 52 weeks per year, six days per week, with a predictive and preventative maintenance program and optimized parts inventory Contribute to an injury-free work environment that protects employees from hazards (including radiation exposure) using a strong hierarchy of controls Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Strategy, People, and Organization: Create a culture of accountability within the production and facilities teams based on inspired, curious, unbossed principles, leading by example Develop vision, define and prioritize objectives, create and implement a staffing plan, approve standard operating procedures, and institute governance that delivers the highest levels of safety, quality, and customer service As a member of the site lead team, drive strategic decisions and develop a Site Master Plan outlining a 5-year plan including forecasted volumes, expenses, and Capex supporting business needs Recruit, train, and develop competent, high performing team members and maintain a robust succession plan Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety, Compliance Ensure a state of compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies is maintained at all times As a peer and in collaboration with the Head of Quality and Head of MS&T, reach decisions with respect to batch disposition, investigation of out of trend or out of specification results, change, and corrective and preventative actions Utilize incident management, corrective/preventative action, risk analyses, and other programs to drive improvement in all aspects of quality, health and safety, and environmental performance Lead by example and constantly advocate for quality, compliance and safety Collaborate with Quality and HSE to define operating procedures, enforce quality and HSE management systems requirements, and be prepared for regulatory inspections and internal audits Operational Excellence Analyze Key Performance Indicators with a statistical mindset to identify opportunities for improvement Drive operations standards to eliminate errors and deliver excellent customer service in a "make to order" business Lead team to implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System that facilitates cost-effective repair, maintenance, and calibration of equipment to prevent unplanned outages Collaborate with supply chain organization to plan production and deliver 100% On-Time-In-Full deliveries Project Management Coordinate decisions on production and facility aspects of new site project from detailed design, CQV, and startup Manage capital investment budget & project portfolio for site after operations commence Vaccine Policy: While Novartis does not require vaccination at this time, for certain Novartis sites in the US all associates and candidates may be required to either upload an image of their COVID-19 vaccine card demonstrating proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (or other similar evidence of vaccination) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken by the associate or candidate within the past seven days to enter any of our sites and/or customer office or healthcare facility, as well as prior to participating in other work related off-site meetings. Minimum Requirements What you'll bring to the role: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, or related field . Training in radiochemistry or radio-pharmacy is an advantage 15 years of production leadership of US cGMP manufacturing operations with sterile drug product experience 10 years leadership of engineering and maintenance of a cGMP plant, including design of facilities according to Lean concepts in material, people, and waste flows, preferably in aseptic manufacturing and radiopharmaceutical processing Direct involvement with quality regulatory inspections of facilities from major agencies such FDA or EMA Excellent knowledge of engineering standards in building, facilities, and equipment in the pharmaceutical industry along with management of construction projects Significant Environment Health and Safety, and GxP / QA experience building an injury and error-free culture with knowledge of multiple compliance areas (corporate governance, financial, quality, environment, safety) Why Advanced Accelerator Applications (AAA)?
